Christina has spent years helping families navigate their most difficult moments — with clarity, compassion, and a direct approach that keeps the process moving forward. She founded The Contained Divorce because she believed families deserved something better than the traditional legal system or a DIY app.

Christina Zavell, Esquire holds a BA in International Relations from Brown University and a JD from Suffolk University Law School, graduating with honors. After years of practice in Massachusetts, she relocated to Utah and opened her mediation practice concentrating in family law and probate matters.
She is an attorney in good standing with the Utah Bar Association and a Court-rostered Master Mediator and Domestic Mentor. Her practice specializes in high-conflict family dynamics, including initial divorces, modifications, parent-time and custody matters, and probate.
Christina has developed a vast network of collaborative family law professionals — including co-parenting therapists, financial neutrals, family system therapists, and attorneys across Utah. Her philosophy is that families are better served by directing their resources toward specific experts depending on their unique needs, whether financial, emotional, or child-centric.
She is a past Board member of the Utah Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts and the Park City Bar Association.
